The game can thus boast that it both feels and looks great, and fun to play
there too. There can be no denying that the game has largely helped themselves
plenty of other people's ideas, and I must admit that I constantly felt like I
played an updated version of WOW. But it need not necessarily be a bad thing.
Database Aion has borrowed many elements from other games, but fortunately all the
elements so well-knit that the sum of it all feels very good. This means however
that unfortunately the game is struggling with the same design drawbacks as its
brothers and sisters. Although Aion is not nearly as bad as their siblings
sometimes may be, there is still the same formula "kill X like, get the X of her
daughter" that goes most of the time.
Grinding is an equal part of Aion as in example WOW. The difference is that it
is a little better camouflaged in Aion: Where in WOW can be a mission where you
must kill 20 bad guys, plus 10 extra creepy bad guys, will be in Aion does have
two missions of a similar suit, but half the bad guy. Man is thus the same
distance, but since it is divided up into smaller fragments created the illusion
that it all feels more manageable.
But when it is said, it's an elephant in the room. Going up in level of Aion
takes significantly longer than in WOW. In fact, I believe that we are talking
about at least three times the experience points needed between each "ding".
In the beginning, marks not so much to it, but eventually can meet on an ever so
small mountain. Aion have actually gone in exactly the same trap as the Age of
Conan did in his time, namely that players plow through available missions
faster than what is intended.
I guarantee that at some point will wonder where in the hell you are going to
head away in exploration for new mission - which is a shame as you go is tired
of killing bad guys on the assembly line in the hunt for the next level.
There may of course be that I've been particularly unlucky with the route I've
chosen, and, naturally, it is possible that it takes up with assignments when I
get me a little up the ladder, but by now I am sitting swell tight.
