Reception in Darkfall Online has been somewhat mixed. In May 2009 publish the first review. Ed Zitron as Eurogamer game reviewer is rewarded with the game a rating of 2 out of 10. However, this review has given rise to some controversy as several basic gameplay description errors are going on. Darkfall chief developer Tasos Flambouras take first place by maintaining that game server logs which show that the Eurogamer reviewer played the game for less than three hours. Eurogamer's subsequence offers to compromise by commissioning a second opinion review.
