You charge your attack by holding the left mouse button. 1/2 second is the minimum time you can charge but you can charge as long as you want. Once you charge you are open for attacks, blocking together with auto-blocking is not available, but you still are able to move around as you wish. When you release LMB, the attack comes instantly, followed by a “ recovery” which leaves you vulnerable as you can not strike or block during that period of time. Charging does not influence the amount of damage you do, but enables you to fully control the attack.
