Sony Online Entertainment will launch shareware (free-to-play) version of EverQuest II, which will run simultaneously with the game on a fee basis. As reported by Gamespot, the branch became known as EverQuest II: Extended and open access to many of the players pay locations, including the addition of Shadow Odyssey.
Unlike the original EverQuest II: Extended will be playing with the free client and no subscription fees, but in it for real money you can buy game bonuses: equipment and consumable items. A detailed list of changes published on the official game site.
It is expected that the beta version of EverQuest II: Extended will begin work Aug. 17, 2010.
